For clients in those industries, Kevin provides clear and practical business and legal advice on responding to regulatory constraints, competitive challenges, and evolving issues, including blockchain, crypto currency, artificial intelligence, privacy, PCI compliance, and other payment card issues.
Technology Transactions
Kevin guides clients through technology and corporate transactions – mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances – that involve computer systems, outsourcing, e-commerce, patent licenses, intellectual property, content distribution, and computer hardware. He identifies risks and implements solutions that limit exposure and maximize value.
In addition, Kevin conducts IP due diligence in corporate M&A deals and advises on the remediation of issues that arise. He has particular strengths analyzing open source software in mergers and acquisitions – he is a Black Duck-certified Legal Specialist – to identify liabilities, risks, and potential exposure to lawsuits and claims.
Dispute Resolution
Kevin defends and prosecutes information technology and intellectual property claims in federal and state courts on behalf of his clients. He has successfully resolved disputes – through negotiations, settlements, and courtroom trials – of software, outsourcing, copyright and trademark infringement, data breaches, and general commercial issues.
